Some Landmarks

2020 No league matches were played due to a global health pandemic caused by a virus named COVID-19.
2019 The West Wales Cricket Association decide to merge with the Association. 12 clubs join. 3 clubs go into Division 7 and 9 clubs form a new Division 8.
2018 Win/Lose Cricket introduced.
Divisions 6 'East' and 'West' revert to Divisions 6 & 7
2017 New Sponsors – Peter Lynn & Partners, Solicitors.
Divisions 6 & 7 are 'regionalised' into Divisions 6 'East' and 'West'
2016 Overseas tour to Holland. Also the 90th Anniversary of the Association.
2015 Five 1st Division Clubs join a newly formed 2nd Division of the South Wales Premier Cricket League. The Association restructures to a 7 Division ladder system.
2011 New sponsors - Thomas Carroll Group PLC
2010 The Association votes to allow clubs to enter Third and Fourth XI's, acting as First and Second XI's in their respective division.
2009 The Association votes to become a feeder league to the new South Wales Premier Cricket League.
2009 Overseas tour to the West Indies visiting the Islands of Antigua and Barbados
2005 Australia/New Zealand/Fiji Overseas Tour.
2004 New Sponsors - Andrew James Knox and Readers Balls.
2002 Inaugural play-offs between S.W.C.A. and South Wales Cricket League sponsored by Coors Brewers Ltd.
2001 Australia/Dubai overseas tour. Also 75th Anniversary of the S.W.C.A.
1992 Tour of Australasia.
1991 Glamorgan Colts decide to withdraw from the Association.
1988 Inaugural Dinner sponsored by Welsh Brewers.
1986 Celebration of Diamond Jubilee and entry of Glamorgan Colts to Second Division. Promotion/Relegation on the two up/two down basis introduced.
1985 New Fifth Division was formed with eight new Clubs.
1982 Further Tour to the Far East & Australia.
1979 Overseas Tour to West Indies.
1978 First Presentation Dinner Held.

1977

The first overseas tour of Australia by the S.W.C.A.
1976 Celebrations of 50th Anniversary.
1970 New rules of play incorporating Overs and Time Limit were introduced.
1967 A Knock Out Competition  was inaugurated.
1964 The Second XI Competition in Divisions One & Two was re-started.
1963 The Association was set up as four divisions and a new Constitution was implemented. 
1960 Promotion & Relegation became automatic between all four sections.
1956  The Association was split up into four sections. 1a, 1b, 2a & 2b.
1948 The Second Division broke away from the Association. They rejoined in 1949.
